School of Nursing

About the School

According the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the field of nursing will grow by 12 percent each year for the next decade. With 210,000 new job openings annually, this high-demand field needs skilled professionals who can think creatively, push the boundaries of science, and work to improve the lives of others.

Join a nationally-recognized nursing program designed for traditional students and working adults alike. The School of Nursing at Columbus State University offers a BSN Program, an RN-BSN program, an MSN program with tracks for a Nurse Educator, Nurse Informaticist, or Nurse Leader, and an FNP (Family Nurse Practitioner) program.

Our BSN graduates have a program experience guided by professors who have created a relevant four-semester nursing curriculum (starting in the junior year - the first four semesters of coursework are prerequisites). The curriculum, which includes many hands-on clinical opportunities, prepares the BSN student to take the NCLEX (National Council Licensure Exam) at the end of the program.

Our BSN program is ranked nationally in the top 100 Best Affordable Nursing Degrees. Columbus State‘s undergraduate program in nursing is approved by the Georgia Board of Nursing.

Our RN-BSN Program is an online program designed for working registered nurses who want to advance their career by completing their BSN. Our RN-BSN program is also ranked nationally in the top 30 RN-BSN programs and statewide in the top 3. The baccalaureate degree program in nursing at Columbus State University is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education.

Our MSN and FNP programs are also online programs with the ability to complete clinical experiences in your area. Our FNP program is ranked nationally in the top 5 Most Affordable Online Nurse Practitioner Degrees and our MSN program is one of the top 5 programs in Georgia. The master's degree program in nursing at Columbus State University as a single institution is also accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education.
