Columbus State University and Columbus Technical College establish nursing program partnership
Columbus, GA – Columbus State University and Columbus Technical College have partnered to offer nursing students a seamless transition from CTC’s Associate Degree in Nursing program to CSU’s RN-BSN online degree program.
Through the partnership, students will apply to both programs at the same time. After students have passed their clinical license exam and received their associate’s degree from Columbus Tech, they are fully admitted to the CSU online program. In the online environment, students participate in learning modules that require several hours each week to complete. Nursing courses are offered in 8-week or 10-week sessions. Students may take their core courses at Columbus Tech or at Columbus State.
CSU’s online program makes it easier for students to work and maintain a family life while completing their degree off campus at their own pace.
“The Complete College Georgia initiative includes the participation of both the University System of Georgia and the Technical College System of Georgia. Through this initiative, the systems are working together to increase the number of adults earning certificates or degrees,” said CSU associate provost Tina Butcher. Students completing the RN program at Columbus Technical College have a clear pathway outlined to encourage them to continue their education and complete the BSN program at Columbus State University.
This is just one of a number of partnerships Columbus State University and Columbus Technical College have established over the last several years. Both institutions are committed to providing the best possible academic experience and service to students in the region.
“This recent collaboration provides a cleaner, more direct path for our graduates to complete a BSN,” said Dr. Linn Storey, CTC vice president of academic affairs. “We are excited to work with CSU on this and other partnerships that benefit the citizens of our community.”
Columbus State University has made scholarships available to students who are fully accepted into the RN-BSN program.
